Jason Fitzgerald Gets Two Top Ten Finishes Over Weekend,  Heads To Toccoa Georgia This Weekend

JACKSONVILLE, FL (August 5, 2008)- Jason Fitzgerald and the Mixson Motorsports Team will travel to Toccoa Speedway in Toccoa, GA this Saturday and compete in an O'Reilly Southern All-Stars Series sanctioned event. The 50-lap feature event will pay $5,000 to the winner and will count towards the series point's standings. Jason is currently second in the series point's standings and leads the series "Rookie of the Year" point's standings.

Jason and the Mixson Motorsports Team competed this past weekend on the National Late Model Series in two events in Alabama. This past Friday Jason competed at Penton Raceway in Penton Alabama in a $3,000 to win National Late Model Series sanctioned event. Jason would set fast time for the event and run in the top five throughout the entire feature and finished a strong 3rd place at the finish. Then on Saturday Jason and team originally headed to Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA for an O'Reilly Southern All-Stars Series sanctioned event but the event would be canceled due to rain. Jason and team hurried to East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City Alabama to compete in the second leg of the weekend for the National Late Model Series. The 40-lap feature event would pay the winner $3,000 and drew 30 late models from the southeast. Jason would make it to the track just in time to qualify and made the feature lineup. Jason would again run in the top ten throughout the event and finished 7th in the final run down.

"We had a good car at both events this past weekend it was just really tough to pass at those tracks. Were looking forward to going to Toccoa Speedway this weekend and compete with the Southern All-Stars again. We've a had some good runs lately on that series and were knocking on the door to get our first win. I have to thank Pro-Systems Carburetors for their support. We've run their carburetors over the past couple weeks and they have been performing very well with our engine combination. Hopefully we can get a win for them and all our sponsors this weekend", stated Jason.
