Jason Fitzgerald Finishes 11th at Talladega Short Track, Heading to Show Down On the Coast at GIS

JACKSONVILLE, FL (October 8, 2008)- Jason Fitzgerald and the Mixson Motorsports Team traveled Rome Speedway in Rome GA for a $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event this past weekend. Jason struggled with an ill-handling car and failed to make the feature event. On Saturday Jason traveled to Talladega Short Track in Talladega, AL and competed in a $5,000 to win O'Reilly Southern All Stars sanctioned event. Jason would qualify 18th and win his consolation race to earn the 13th starting position for the feature event. Jason would advance into the top ten early but would finish 11th at the final run down. Jason remains in second place in the series points standings and still leads the "Rookie of the Year" points on the O'Reilly Southern All Stars Series in 2008. "We struggled at Rome Speedway on Friday. But Saturday we had a pretty good car. The track rubbered up and I didn't get in the rubber soon enough and lost about three positions to finish 11th. We'll keep working hard for these few races and hopefully get a couple wins before the season ends. Were looking forward to going back to Golden Isles Speedway and competing in the "Show Down on the Coast" in two weeks", stated Jason. Jason and the Mixson Motorsports Team will take this weekend off from racing and next compete at the $10,000 to win "Show Down on the Coast" at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, GA on October 17-18th.
