Jason Fitzgerald Heads to Lucas Oil Series Event and Southern All-Stars Series Event This Weekend
JACKSONVILLE, FL (October 1, 2008)- Jason Fitzgerald and the Mixson Motorsports Team will travel to North Georgia this weekend and compete in a pair of events. On Friday night Jason will travel to Rome Speedway in Rome GA for a $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event. Then on Saturday night Jason and the team will travel to Talladega Short track in Talladega, AL and compete in a $5,000 to win O'Reilly Southern All Stars sanctioned event.
Jason will be looking to improve on his performance after a disappointing past weekend at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia. Jason competed in an O'Reilly Southern All Stars East Series event this past Friday. Jason would struggle with an ill handling car and finished 14th in the $3,000 to win feature event. Then on Saturday Jason competed again at the same track in an O'Reilly Southern All Stars Series sanctioned event in a 50-lpa $5,000 to win feature. Jason again fought the chassis setup all night finishing a disappointing 16th. Jason still remains in second place in the series point's standings and leads the series "Rookie of The Year" category. "Were looking forward to racing this weekend and running better. We found a few things wrong with the car from last week so hopefully we'll be in contention for a win this weekend. We struggled at Golden Isles Speedway this past weekend and hopefully we've corrected the problem and get back to contending for a win again like I know we can", stated Jason.
